Learning How to Say No: STEM Leadership Lessons
Episode 68 w/ Lizeth Tamayo, Ph.D.

How well do you do at saying no? If you’re like most people, you may struggle with this and may feel guilty at times when you do say no.
Having boundaries and knowing when to say no is critical to your success as a young professional because when you say yes to one thing, you’re inadvertently saying no to something else.
This is something I’m actively working on and I had an incredible discussion about this and life in STEM supporting underrepresented people with my good friend Dr. Lizeth Tamayo.

In this episode, I talk with Dr. Lizeth Tamayo, who is currently a computational biologist at Tempus Labs. Lizeth and I discuss various topics related to research, careers, and diversity. Lizeth Tamayo obtained her Ph.D. in genetic epidemiology from the University of Chicago. We share our personal experiences and insights, highlighting the importance of saying no, balancing multiple roles, and setting boundaries.
