MAKING SCIENCE FASCINATING

When it comes to STEM, some people are inspired by it but others find it difficult or worst case boring and are disinterested in it. It’s been a passion of mine to support STEM Young professionals and I have doing in this work since I was in college as student with LSAMP since 2014.

That year, I was the founding member and treasurer of a research student organization sponsored by my local IINSPIRE-LSAMP at Iowa State University. Fast forward to 2020 when I founded a nonprofit dedicated to this now called NALA(STEM) which exists to unite, support and build community among all historically excluded peoples in STEM.

I have been focused on the college level and beyond, but often times students have written off STEM long before then, so I love getting to connect with and talk with people who are doing incredible things for those even younger.

Enter Justin “Mr. Fascinate” Shaifer, a recent 30 under 30 recipient in Education, who has been making waves in STEM communication Justin is truly leading the charge as a futurist and working with some of the biggest names in the space like Bill Nye.

In this episode of IncrediPaul Leadership, I talk to him about his journey, his passion, and what he’s currently working on, and how to be an effective STEM leader even at a young age!
