Don’t Quit
Have you ever felt like quitting?
Have you ever felt wondered if what you’re doing is enough?
Or maybe you’re just tired?
I’ll say immediately that in some situations quitting is the right solution, but as long as you do it the right away.
What do I mean by this?
Don’t quit just because something is hard to do something easy. Quit because you found something you’re more passionate about or is more rewarding for you or more meaningful.
John Maxwell talks about giving up to go up. In order to reach new heights, we’re going to have to stop doing certain things to make sure we make time for the things that really matter. Only you can determine that. Looking to family, friends, or even worse social media to figure out what you want can leave you feeling empty.
Remember that just because something is hard doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do it, but it does mean that you need to get the right resources around you whether it’s person (coach or mentor), book, podcast, or YouTube video. Seek out help when things are hard don’t just try to struggle through it yourself.
I talk with someone who has modeled in her story and is an inspiration to many young women in STEM especially but even beyond that as she has inspired me as well! Mone’t Sawyer is Ph.D. Candidate at Biomedical Engineering on the surface, but she’s a lot more than that and we get to dive into her story transitioning from Criminal Justice to becoming a multi-hyphenated women!
