ADDING VALUE THROUGH NETWORKING
A couple weeks ago, I had the honor of speaking at NSBE Professional Development Conference in Washington D.C. It was an incredible experience and had the opportunity to speak to an overflowing room for my workshop and had lots of great feedback and comments about my session!
As great as that was, what was more valuable to me was the people I had the chance to connect with and talk with after the session and throughout the conference. They had specific questions about leadership and how they could approach it in their place of work and in life, and I was able to share my insights and ways to keep improving.
As well, I also got to connect with several people doing incredible things, and will some of them on the show as their time allows.
This happened because I was intentional with my networking and looking for ways to add value to others and also allowed them to add value to me by simply sharing what I’m passionate about and how I can help them.
Networking is a 2-way street and if you’re only looking to get something out of it and not give anything in return, you’re doing it wrong.
I talk about this and more in the new episode of the podcast.
