WHAT IS LEADERSHIP COACHING REALLY?
Everything I do with IncrediPaul is centered around becoming the most incredible versions of ourselves and I’ve chosen to focus in on young professionals in STEM but the podcast expanded that a little since the focus is on leadership. One thing I do with this is coaching.
There’s a common misconception about what coaching really is and it can be mistaken for therapy or consulting, but it’s really not the same.
Therapy is focused on fixing things in your past and consulting is focused on doing the work for a client, while coaching is unlocking the potential within the client.
The power of coaching isn’t from the coach but from the coaching relationship to determine the best possible solutions from you moving forward.
In the case of leadership coaching, you’re analyzing your leadership and talking through different scenarios in order to be more effective and applying steps to improve your leadership daily. Keep in mind that leadership is influence and you can lead without having a title!
In this episode, I talk with an executive coach who knows a lot about what it means to be an effective leader. She’s been doing it for years and talks through her journey to becoming an executive coach and how she helps her clients!
